read the manual for cleaning tips

Technology is advancing everyday and being built right into our home appliances, for example an oven with self cleaning, but you may never know unless you read the manual. Also, in line with utilizing the right cleaning supplies, the manuals of your home appliances come with specific cleaning instructions for it.

The best way to be sure you are cleaning your home appliance right is by knowing the specific instructions for your appliance. On the off chance that your appliance’s manual is not accessible to you, Google is there to save you. Simply google your appliance to gain more information.

Don’t use abrasives on stainless steel

An appliance that is made of metal does not automatically mean it can withstand tough blows, and stainless steel appliances show just that. Do not use harsh/ rough-edged materials on your stainless steel appliances as stainless steel tends to scratch easily.

Also refrain from using harsh products such as bleach, ammonia, or scouring powders as they will damage the exterior of the appliance. Stainless steel materials do not pack in the dirt as much as other appliances so a simple wipe down with water often cleans out the dirt.

In the case of dried up stains, dip a rag into warm water and after squeezing out excess water wipe the dry stain away. Baby oil has been known to keep stainless steel appliances clean while adding a nice shine to them.

The Do’s And Don’ts Of Cleaning Home Appliances Part 1

the dos and donts of cleaning home appliances part 1

Our Customers Love Us

Our home appliances are there through thick and thin. Their sole purpose is to make life easier for us by simplifying the complex things when it comes to meal prep. For instance, we can have toast at the snap of a finger with a toaster. There is also the amazing fact that laundry is no longer an arduous task with a washing machine and dryer, plus the additional benefit of some dryers steaming our clothes for us.

Most of us would not survive without our home appliances. It would feel like being thrown into the middle ages with having to do all things by hand at double the time. This is why we need to show some quality TLC to our appliances, after all, no one wins if they stop functioning.

If you have no idea what to do when it comes to taking care of your home appliances, or simply want to know if you have been doing it right, we have you covered. In this 7 part series, we have put together the major do’s and don’ts when it comes to cleaning your home appliances.

invest in the right cleaning supplies

Stop skimping and scheming on essential cleaning supplies. To ensure that your appliances remain in good shape for continuous use, one has to use the required materials to clean them. No one method fits all for your appliances.

Using the wrong supplies can result in damage to the home appliance you want to clean. But using the right cleaning supplies reduces the cost of buying products and increases the efficiency and life expectancy of your products.

The right cleaning supplies will go much further than the wrong ones, leaving you with the best value for your money and shiny home appliances always.

Unplug electrical appliances

As much as you might feel everyone knows this, you would be surprised to know that amount of people who get electrocuted while cleaning a home appliance. This is as simple as it sounds.

Even if the appliance doesn’t have any exposed parts so long as it is an electrical appliance, we suggest that you unplug it before cleaning. Either way, it is best to not take chances. It is better to be on the safe side with an unplugged home appliance than to find out the powers of said appliance the hard way.

Keep an eye out for Part 2
